If
you have questions
Nothing beats meeting
facetoface with your child's teacher to really understand how he or
she is doing in school. You will have one or two scheduled opportunities
to meet each year at parent/teacher conferences. However, your child's
teacher or principal will be happy to discuss your suggestions or concerns
at any time. Here are some important questions to help you get the most
out of your conversations with teachers:
- How well does
my child get along with classmates?
- What subjects/activities
does he or she do the best/worst in and enjoy/dislike the most?
- Does my child
complete assignments regularly?
- Does he or she
willingly participate in classroom discussions and activities?
- Is my child
doing his or her best?
- Does my child
have an adequate attention span?
- Does my child
follow directions?
- Have there been
any noticeable behavior changes?
- How does my
child handle testtaking and what scores does he or she receive?
- Does my child
need help in an academic area or need to see a school specialist?

determine the inschool care and teaching of their children. You may,
upon request, review curriculum, textbooks or other teaching materials.
By appointment, you may visit your child's classroom to observe instructional
activities. Your child must be enrolled and present in class on the
day you observe and observation will not be scheduled during testing.
Contact the school principal to make arrangements.
