Military recruiters contact students after their junior year of high school. Early enlistment is encouraged by recruiters to guarantee training programs. Careful consideration should be given in making an enlistment decision as a binding contract is signed. Students should compare training options offered, since there are major differences between the service branches. Recruiters will promote the "early admission-delayed entry" program with graduates leaving for "boot camp" or "basic training" soon after their diploma is issued.

Before signing a contract, talk with your parents or counselor to weigh the pros and cons of military. Remember, you can always enlist in the military at any time if you meet the requirements.

Students who want to investigate military opportunities can contact area recruiting offices.
